1187 ammo
Does anyone have a recipe in 12ga that will CONSISTANTLY cycle Remington 1187? The only ammo I have found that is fool-proof is remington Premier STS. But who wants to keep buying when I can reload. 1 1/8 or 1 oz would be fine.
The gun hits very well and for me, it's a natural pointer.

here's one
I use 20.6 grains of Hodgon International, a TGT-12 wad, and one ounce of lead in a Remington Premier hull. I used to have problems when using Red Dot, the gun would start to not cycle after about 75 rounds. I have not had one bobble with the above load. I do clean the gun after every outing (100 rounds) though.

THX Charlie. I was using Green Dot and has a similar problem after 25 rounds.
I'll give it a try.

BTW - I use a #32 bushing in my MEC. #33 load also works fine.

I have the same problem with my 1100, especially in winter. Using Red Dot with a #32 bushing. Will try the #33 with Hogdon powder. Thanx Charlie.
