Under Bench Receiver System

And then there is the best system of bench mounting ever!

No holes in the bench top, No cutout or grooves in the bench top!

Bench top always clean and hole free with tools being able to be moved or changed at will.

The Under Bench Receiver System

The under receiver bench mounting system is not without its faults and limitations as well.

There's a story behind mine. First, I finished setting it up today. I got the Stack-On reloading bench with back for Fathers Day. Assembly wasn't too bad, but I found parts were missing. One of the back braces and the entire top shelf. The good folks at Stack On were very helpful. There were no parts available, so they just sent me a new one. A trip to Home Depot for some lumber and I made a top shelf for the incomplete bench. A little surgery on the incorrect back brace to make it fit and presto: Two benches. The wooden shelf (on the right hand bench has the added attraction of being deep enough for my manuals and strong enough to take quite a bit of weight should I decide to move things around. I added a pair of cheap fluorescent light sticks from Wal-Mart so I can see what I'm doing. The press & tool placement is an initial layout which I may change once I get started reloading and see how production flows. Nice to be back in the game!

Home Depot bench for $69.00. Came in a box. Unfolded legs and it was set up. Isn't pretty but functional. Got to get some drawer space for little stuff.

Functional is all you need. Works for me. I loaded up about 100 rounds of 44 mag plinking loads today to see how everything flows. Not bad. 9 grains of Titegroup behind a 240 grain cast bullet. Now to find time to go shooting!

Nothin' fancy here. I'm a long gun precision loader so my RCBS Rock Chucker suits my needs perfectly. The reason behind the raised pedestal is from past backaches. I also needed to add some rigidity to my press mount. So I fabbed up a super beefy riser with much better ergonomics and it works awesome. It gets my press up about 14" higher so I'm not hunched over working the press.

I like that. I've tried to sit and load but can't find stool comfortable enough. Just stand most of the time.

before I fabbed the riser I tried sitting as well. That did not work for me at all.

Re: Post 12

Exactly the reason I built my bench 42" high. I stand when I reload. The up-against-the-wall bench doesn't do it for me. I like the island access to all sides, it adds a whole new dimension to the bench.
