Zeroing an Eotech 512
Title pretty well sums it up really. I took my M1A out to the range to zero in my new Eotech. I started at 25 yards and was punching such a tight pattern that I had to get up close to see multiple impact points. It was very small, 1/2" MOA or even a little less.
25 yards seemed a little close for a .308 so I moved out to 100. But I found that the reticule almost totally obscured the target at that range. I moved all the way in to 50 yards even then then the reticule was slightly bigger then the 1" bullseye of my target. Where do you guys sight in your Eotechs?

First off, it is a combat sight not a target sight.
I use a 50 yard zero for my 5.56 and .308. This link should help out with the sight in. http://www.eotech-inc.com/documents/...ire_Target.pdf |

I sighted it at 25m. not sure about .308, but it'll put 5.56 right on target at 300m

Actually... The more I think about it... Your 512 i'll assume has the standard ring/dot reticle. Your ring is 65mils, your dot in the center is 1mil. Which translates to 1" at 100m. So the dot SHOULD cover the 1" bullseye at 100m.
