Check my 9mm load please

I normally use 4.1gr 7625 using a Lee 125gr LRN seated 1.07oal for my CZ. It clocks at 975fps.

Stupidly, I set the scale at 4.6gr instead. First time I've done this since I started reloading a few years ago. Unfortunately I loaded about 100 of these.

Now IMR shows a Berrys 124gr at 4.2-4.9 but at a longer OAL.

Is this a grenade or simply a 'warm' load?

I don't know.

My suggestion is to do a work up to it: A few rounds at 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, etc.

I already loaded over a hundred at 4.6.

That's okay. Do a work up with a few rounds each, in 1/10th grain increments, until you get to 4.6. If you get there without problems, then you know that the 100 you loaded are good to go

Oh I gotcha. Good idea.

Still can't believe I did that.

BTW, my gut tells me you don't have a problem. But I don't know that for certain.

You've got a medium speed powder - not likely to be snappy, like bullseye or red dot (I have no experience with 7625 though). You've got lead - which "relieves pressure" easier than jacketed (i.e. less barrel friction). Yep, probably just a warm load. (Leading might be an issue, but that's not the immediate concern here.)

Also, most modern 9mm handguns are rather robust and have a good deal of "headroom" built into them.

Regardless, a safe approach is the recommendation.

Watch for leading in the barrel.

I checked hodgdon's web site and you should be good to go with the 7625. Max load shown is 4.9 with a 1.15 OAL. Take your impact hammer and push the bullets out to 1.15 from the current 1.07.

Ok, fired ten each at 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5...no flattened primers or other weird signs. I held my breath and fired a couple 4.6's and they were snappy but otherwise no issues.

I couldn't chrono them unfortunately as the line was insanely busy.

They sure ejected though, three tables away. Yowza.

They'd never chamber in my CZ at that OAL.

I would go back and seat the bullet to a prober plunk test. your load isn't I dangerous territory. if the aret chambering, just set a a hair deper and get them to chamber reliably. then shoot and have fun. your not in gun destroying territory.mo meed to pull the bullets

edit*...just saw that you already shot the rounds. nevermind

Skizzums, CZ's have a notoriously shallow leade, almost nonexistent in fact. 1.07 is the longest I can load these Lee lead bullets before I have sticking issues. FMJ doesn't have this issue as the ogive is different.

I hear ya. I shoot cz's as well. my fav load for regular round is 1.090. HPs I load to 1.077 or even lower. I was just talking about the load data in general, it does not appear in any kind of dangerous pressure with the amount of powder that was loaded.
