Winchester Powder question

Being mostly a pistol and .223/Service Reloader, I don't deal much with the magnum class of powders. Recently I ventured into wildcat territory (my wildcat of choice being 22/6mm Rem), and found a lot of loads already worked up for WMR, but Winchester isn't currently cataloging it.

Did I miss the boat? Is WMR discontinued, or did it get relabeled as WXR? Are loads for any given caliber listed with "WMR" safe to start with with "WXR"? Any help is appreciated!

Tom

If I'm not mistaken, WMR is/was a ball type powder and WXR is an extruded powder. I don't believe they are interchangeable.

WMR got discontinued. Where are you located, I have a extra 8lb keg that I might be able to sell or trade to you if you're local. S/F...Ken M
