Savage 220 Slug gun???
I am considering buying a new Savage 220F bolt slug gun. It has a fast twiist 1-28 I think which I am told is what ya want and a detachable mag. Anyone have one or have an opinion???

We have some slug only quota hunts here in KY. I see lots of slug guns and talk to lots of hunters and the 220 has come up lately as the best of the best for a slug gun. If you can aford one I don't think you'll be dissapointed.

I owned one for a time. Very accurate slug gun but the recoil was brutal shooting off of a rest. Other than the recoil it just feels like a bolt action rifle. If you are looking for a dedicated slug gun capable of long range shots this gun will do that job nicely.

I just purchased the savage 220 camo version for deer hunting nice gun and the recoil is very manageable it is a 20 ga and does have a decent pad on it. for long range slug hunting this is a decent gun it will do the job.

Browning just came back out with the A Bolt slug gun, way more but in the end there isnt anything wrong with the savage. I personally know 5 guys I hunt with that use and love them
