Felag Arms 12 ga shotgun
I have just looked at a beautiful shotgun made by Felag Arms Co, Belgium.
side plates are colored case hardened with most finish remaining. no hammers. internal locks. the barrel is slick inside and the outside is smooth with no ridges. the barrel looks damascus. infact, the pattern is beautiful. it is everyones opinion that the damascus is an applied finish. the gun otherwise appears modern with steel tubes. does anyone have any opinions or information? thank you |

You may have to remove the barrels to find the proof marks but if it's bp proofed it will have ELG in an oval with a crown on top. If it's smokeless it will have PV under a crown. Most Belgian proof steel barrels made during the last days of damascus will be marked Nitro Proofed or Proof Steel but could be marked Twist Finish and have an applied damascus finish as a lot of folks back then trusted damascus but not proof steel when it first came out. Proof marks don't lie tho and they will be there.........somewhere
