Greetings from Wyoming, MI

Hi all....New guy in the house. Glad to be here. Pics show my S&W 38-1 Bodyguard Airweight I recently aquired. I used to own a Model 57 nickel-plated 4-inch bbl., and a 4-inch bbl. model 25-5 way back in the 1980's. I just had to get a J-frame though....I do like this one a lot. I'll upload pics shortly that show the new grips I installed. PEACE.

Okay....I'm sure most of you already understand why the original factory grip panels had to go. They are terrible. So it was either wait for a Tyler T-grip, or get a good set of grips from the wide selection that is available from many different places. Boot grip, or "oversize", or "laser grips". I looked around the internet for about a month-or-so, and found these (see pics). They are "simulated ivory" checkered oversize type from Boone Trading Company. They are not excessively oversized either. They are just right.
The other pic of the three shows my IWB holster of choice (I will be taking a cpl/ccw course in the very near future): a Blackhawk! ARC. This .38 Special, and this holster are to be my EDC rig, when I am able to carry it legally.
My other two pistols, the 1992 vintage Beretta 96D, and the new Stoeger STR, are definitely not as compact and light-weight, so they are for the house, and the range.

I've had my Model 57-6", no dash since the early 80's and four years ago picked up a 4" version as well. They'll never leave me. Oh, and welcome as well.

Welcome to the forum. Maybe we will bump into each other at the Silver Bullet sometime. I’ll just look for the guy with the J Frame on his face. Just kidding. I’m from Jenison.

I should have never sold the 4" model 57 in nickel, as well as the 25-5....the best trigger action & feel, next to the 38-1 I have now. Thank you for the welcome jet-.

Thank you rep1954....Yes maybe we will see each other at the Silver Bullet. I moved to Wyoming a little over a year ago. I like it here a LOT better than Big Rapids (no jobs there, and no good shopping there, and the public transit sucks).More to do here. And I get the "J-frame all over his face..." comment. Just have a webcam for the time being LOL.

Welcome Cricket.

I lived in Wyoming for a bit between High School ( grew up in Sturgis) and the Army in 1979.

Thank you Nanuk. I'm sure you may not recognize the place today. It is a good neighborhood I live in. Has everything I need, and then some.

Welcome to forum J cricket.

I actually have the same M38 (no dash) Bodyguard Air weight. It my everyday ccw. revolver. I utilize a N3 De Santis pocket holster. It works well for the everyday attire. I live in Florida , I mostly wear t-shirts and shirts. The revolver does not print

Thanks guys! mrcharlie 3531 I just got a new DeSantis Sof-Tuck for the 38-1. I have DeSantis holsters for my two semi-autos also. Thumb-Break Scabbard for the Beretta 96D, and a Cozy Partner for the Stoeger STR-9 (holster was made for a Glock 17, but fit's the Stoeger perfectly also). I like the quality of their holsters.
