Most Accurate Load for the 223 Rem.

What is your most accurate load using a 52 to 55 gr. bullet?

Thanks,

Turk

Turk, I don't load bullets that light, but Varget and RL15 sould give excellent results. Avoid FMJ for best accuracy.

55Gr Seirra Bullets works the best for me.In my Win,70 1 in 12 twist.
Powder is H-335 26.5 Gr

Had a new barrel installed 2yrs ago. 6000rds+ was too much for that old barrel!

S/S Loather Wather (German) is the best. 3/4in groups all day from the bench 100yds

You didn't mention what type of firearm you were wanting to know the load info for.

Most accuarate in Rem. 40 XBR using sto bought projectiles.
52 gr Hornady BTHP with 26.8 gr of W-748

What kind of rifle are you planning on shooting this ammunition through a Bolt Action or Semi?

I've been reloading the the 223 Rem. since the early 70's and was just wondering what others best loads were. I shoot the 223 out of a Colt SP1, 1-12" twist and it is very accurate with Sierra 52-53 gr. and the 55 gr Nolser Ballistic tip.

These are my loadings

52-52 gr. 26.8 gr. of 748
55 gr. 26 gr. of 748

My brother-in-law's Rem. Varminter shoots very well with this loads.

Thanks again.
