357 Sig Questions

My reloading manual is too old to have any 357 Sig information.
What is the Maximum Case Length and What is the trim-to length?
Thanks
Charles

I don't have SAAMI's drawing, but because of its extremely short neck, the .357 SIG appears to have a smaller trim tolerance than most cases. Maximum length is 0.865". The Hornady manual puts the trim length at 0.860". The manuals usually aim for the middle of the length span, so the SAAMI minimum is likely to be 0.855". It is more usual to have a +0.000/-0.020" span. This is the first case for which I've noticed anything different.

You might want to reconsider the need for trimming. I went through thousands of reloads without any issues.

I think I would be buying a newer manual before i started loading for a cartridge or did some on line research for data from reputable powder/component suppliers. The case length should be available with a little leg work using Dogpile.com or even Google.
