A local gun shop has a new Rossi .357 magnum revolver. It is a nice looking gun. I just want to know how well-made they are and how well they shoot.

Please, I would like feedback only from folks that have actually owned and fired them. If your third cousin, on your mother's side, twice removed fired one twenty years ago and blew his hand up, I don't care. If you have one right now or had one recently, please give me some feedback.

I had a new Rossi M721 (I think that was the model), I bought in 1995. It was the .44 Special, stainless steel model, with a 3" barrel. Well made pistol, handled any ammo I ran through it. Wish I still had it, but we had a burglary in 2005, and the POS decided he wanted it more. If I were to find another at a good price, I would definately buy it.

I had a Rossi 972 .357 6-inch SS revolver. Never had a problem with it, was accurate, seemed well made, nice looking. I only put a few hundred rounds thru it before I decided I wanted a 4-inch barrel revolver instead of a 6-inch, and sold it. For the money, it was great! I paid less than $300 NIB! back in about 2006 or 2007. Sorry I don't have any idea how it would hold up under high round counts, or hot loads. I ran .357 mag and 38 special +P thru it, all factory rounds.

Have a Rossi M877 (Stainless 357 magnum, 2" barrel)
and a Rossi M720c, (Stainless 44 special, 3" barrel.)
Both are reliable and as accurate as I am.

I have a 6 inch Rossi .357 in stainless - never a problem - I shoot it a lot with reloads, stout ones. Very accurate too. Seems well made to me - I will tell you this though, you better have some ear protection on when you light one of those mags off!

You don't say which model, but I had a pre Braztech (current ownership/partner via Taurus) 971 (.357) or their roughly-K equivalent. It was a fine, no issue gun 'til lost in a rough country hunting incident (my holster, not its fault :-)). And, yes, I have HEARD generally good things about the new(ish) .357 / shot snubby--one the few (if not *the*) small-frame six shots in the .357 class on the market.

Had a Rossi 38 snub bought in 1998. It was well finnished and shot great, even came with a fancy purple velvet bag.

My son's first wife kept it after I loaned it to her after a break-in to their apartment. My son was on the other side of the world in the Service.

It also had never failed to fire.

I had an older Rossi/Interarms .38 snub nose blued. It was a a great gun I think it was a model 685. If you are going to use it for any kind of conceal carry lose the stock grips and get Pachmayr Compac Grips.

I had a Rossi m677 .357 that i got at a pawn shop a couple years ago.It never failed and was really smooth to shoot.I gave it to my wife and she carried it for almost 2 years,then she traded it in for a new Glock 23.

I really kinda still miss that little gun.I went back later but they had sold it already.

I have a 22 that split the barrel, it was first pistol I learned on, but had fired probably 50,000+ rounds through it. remember when ammo was under .50 for a box of 50 rounds of 22s? go out on a weekend & shoot 2 bricks.

I still have it locked away, the forcing cone area split, & up into the barrel area. several gunsmiths said it wasnt worth fixing, so for 15+ years it has rested in the original presentation box.

most everyone else I have talked to said they were great guns, if I ever see another I would like to try it out & see if I could split another.

I have a Rossi 462 (2", SS, .357) that has beem my daily carry weapon for the last 4 years. I have fired over 2000 rounds of various loads through this gun without any breakage or malfunctions. I wouldn't trade it for all of the S&W's and Rugers east of the Mississippi.

I have an older model 971 in 4in that I have had for nearly 15 years now.I won't part with it.It was the 3rd handgun I ever got and to this day is the most accurate pistol I own.In 1997 I had it and a model 64 S&W and my wife nagged me to get rid of one as I had no safe at the time.After taking both to the range a final time to compare head to head I sent the Smith packing.Now granted this gun has had a trigger job done on it so that might explain some of its accuracy,but who ever had it before me was a fool for letting this go.I have never had a problem with this gun and have shot everything from mild 38spl to max 357 mag loads and it has never failed.Not to bad for a gun I payed $225 out the door for.I had much more in the Smith and it wasn't nearly as good.

I also used to have a " pre Taurus " Rossi , in .38 snub. Was a good pistol.
