H&R 622
Hey all. Been a lurker here for a while and have enjoyed the many informative posts I've read. Lots of great knowledge in here.
I just got back from Thanksgiving dinner at Dad's house and brought with me his old H&R 622. I remember shooting this gun with him as a kid in the mid 60's.. It's in the original box, and as you can see from the ammo box in the last picture, it's been a while since it's been shot. The owner's manual and the label on the box neither one have a zip code, which means it's probably older than 1967. Note the whopping sales price of $28.95. Dad bought it used from a guy he worked with for $20 in 1960 something. In a thread back a year ago, Tom2, had a list of serial numbers for these guns that could give a manufacture date. Tom2, do you still have your list? If you do, could you see what the manufacture date for this gun might be? The serial # on this one is: AA30988. Thanks in advance. |

That is a great old H&R you have there. I remember shooting an old H&R that my step-dad had as a kid. Its a shame H&R went out of business because thay made simple, no non-sense guns.

Lovin' those H&Rs! It is a shame they don't make revolvers anymore. The things last forever.

Thanks for the date codes, woad_yurt. 1964 is consistent with what Dad and I remember. I appreciate the help.
And you're right wyncollector, the old H&R revolvers are about a simple as it gets, very rugged, and pretty accurate shooters as well. Thanks again. |
