My Piettas are less than three years old. Reckon I need to post some pics of the flaws and external machine marks. Like I said, they're good guns but I believe Ubertis to be a little better on average.

my pietta 1860 army does have some fit issues with the grip but they are very minor. everything else is perfect and tight as can be..

I picked my Centaure up off GB a few months back. The bolt was over size and had peened the cylinder notches pretty badly. The Centaure steel is much harder than any Pietta or Uberti I have worked on.
My problem was my eye sight and working in the notches, finally got them squared up nicely. I was impressed on how well the cylinder took touch up cold blue. You could not tell it had been touched when I was done. I would say it came out a strong 97% when I was finished with it.
It's a three screw and cut for a shoulder stock and the shoulder stock I have is a Uberti four screw

Mine is #215X with 8" barrel. I feel the need for a second Centaure if I can find one.

MCB,

Wayne and I have decided to wait on a decision about finishing the revolver until after he gets the action and fit right.

Mine still has good color on the back strap. Best finish I have ever seen on any C&B pistol new or used. But he had to work on the cylinder so the rebated section is in the white. I told him I thought I wanted the whole thing reblued.

I think he has other ideas, but for now he is keeping them to himself. I will trust almost anything he says.
