Rust under grip

I just bought a S&W in excellent shape except for some rust under the grip. Can I get rid of this rust simply by rubbing it with gun oil? 14273312_1434218143260359_1570566117_o.jpg

Just in time !!! ????

I'd say yes as that rust looks pretty "green" or fresh. You may have some slight staining left but for the part, should be okay. get after it and let us know how you made out. .......

Be Safe !!!
