although I have never had this happened, my best friend and I just had a discussion about this very issue yesterday and he was telling me that there is a couple of options, they make a stuck case remover, where you can get one, I'm not exactly sure, obviously try midway or grafs, and I'm sure that it somehow screws into your press and you use your Ram to pull the case out, or, if that doesn't work, I think that you have to send it back to the manufacturer and they will remove it for you. Good luck

Screw the bullet seater out thru the mouth of the seater die, that should force the bullet out of the die. William

Sounded to me like it was a bullet if he screwed the seater down.
I would send it back to the factory to have it inspected for damage. If its a good branded die then it wont cost you more than shipping one way. |

I am curious as to how he got the bullet stuck.
Was it the wrong die/bullet combo? Did the bullet get stuck on the crimping part of the die?

yes my dad thinks he knows everything about everythin you know how that goes..he tried to run a 300win mag bullet in a 30-06 die and i guess he jamed it in there kinda hard because the top of the case was crimped almost in half

"...he tried to run a 300win mag bullet in a 30-06 die..."
I'm still confused. Both the .300 and .30-06 (and a maybe dozen or more other .30 caliber cartridges) use the same .308" bullets. ?? |

Apparently what he tried to do is either: 1. resize a 300 WM case in the 30-06 dies or 2, he tried to seat a 308 bullet into a 300 WM case using the 30-06 seating die.

Bullet = The thing that flies thought the air.
Case = The brass container for the powder, bullet and primer. Primer = The ignition system that is struck by the firing pin. Powder = "Gun Powder", a nitrocellulose based propellant. Cartridge = The case, powder, primer, and bullet as a loaded unit, AKA, "round". A "bullet" is not the same as a "cartridge". If you are a hand loader and do not know the difference, stop immediately. Now, there should not be any confusion if one uses the correct term. |

I can't visualize the the geometry which would cause the bullet to hang up in the top of the die. That one's got me stumped.
Tyat said, why not just unscrew the locknut on the seating screw, and then screw the top punch/seat down into the die to shove the bullet/seating assembling out through the bottom? |
