M41A Pulse Rifle
Yes, the one from the movie Aliens.
Wasn't really sure where to put this but here seemed as good a place as any. Anyone know how or even if a fully functional replica could be had? This definately qualifies as me having to much time on my hands (and quizically thinking; what if?) but if I could find someone who would build one or if they already make one I would drop much $$$$ on it. I know in the movie it is mentioned that it fires a 10x28mm caseless round and I also know that a great deal of its design actually came from a Thompson submachine gun and a Remington 870.

Like this??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am76x...eature=related There are Airsoft versions. Perhaps you could get one and mod it with a .22. But I'm pretty sure that sticking an actual shotgun on the bottom would arouse the interest of the BATFE

I'm not sure what is possible or not but it seems like a cool idea if it could be done. And yeah I could try that, take a .22 Thompson or something and put the furniture one it.

I'd be interested in the ammo as well.
10mm explosive-tipped caseless, Standard Light-Armor Piercing Round. Haha the "SLAPR"

They generally just soup up a military weapon for the movies. Get a bunch of still photos, determine the weapon, and what they did, and voilĂ , you have it. They used a ton of German and British WWII, and earlier, weapons in Star Wars.
The worst one that I ever saw, was a concoction some set armorer came up with in Blade Runner. They had Harrison Ford carrying a pistol made from the frame of a bolt action rifle. Right ugly piece of work. |

Funny...
I just saw a cool website with a lot of wacky, tacky, & Id admit, , rad gadgets & guns.
I think it's DudeIwantthat.com. I'll put up the website if I can find it. They have Serbu Shotguns, Aliens rifles, even the super-cool 2011 duo(yes, 2) functioning 1911 .45acp pistols. Just imagine 460 grains from John Moses Browning's greatest design flying at your head at about 850 fps. The 2011 .45acp pistol price is unknown. |

Look up the Replica Prop Forum. Lots of good info on how to make stuff there.
