How about....

....something from Lyman?

I know it is nice to have a place to start but you may already be reading the best source available. (This forum).

Tnx,

Doc

DOC... I already load around 60 different cartridges, so I have a plethera of manuals, & equipment ( though all my loaders are single stage... so far )

but I have a love of the old single shot rifles... & lately have been considering trying to load some of them up as black powder...

so I need to know what "new" equipment I need ( like drop tubes & the like ) to load those rifle cartridges... thought about maqybe doing my cowboy 45 Colt loads for my Montados in black powder... I have an "old guy" that I consult about loading cartridges or processes that are new to me... but he doesn't really play the BP game...

I think I could go it on my own, if I had some good reference material, as well as a black powder load book ???

MWM,

You have confirmed my memory from your posts that you have far more experience than a new guy might have.

I don't do cartridge anything so my thought on Lyman was just a SWAG.

It has some good info one BP ballistics but the issue of my latest one is 1978. Precious little on cartridges.

I was asking about predicted muzzle velocity from a 12 inch Remington .44 and got no help from the book.

Hope others are more helpful.
