Leica 1200-- feedback?

Have any of you used the new Leica 1200 rangefinder? I am intrigued by it, but can not find a local store which stocks them. Would like to get some real-life opinions before dropping the bucks for a mailorder one. I know the 800 got high praise, but Leica says the 1200 is a totally new design in the same packaging as the 800. As you know, improvements are not awlays good things.

Thanks,
Nate

the new 1200 is by far the best rangefinder on the market. We have had many people trade in their 8oo Leica to get one after they compared the two in person. It is the only rangefinder that I have been able to get a range over 900 yards with out having to rest it on something.

SWFA...
Your price on the Leica 1200 looks good too.

I have the 1200. It ranges perfectly and the lens clarity is unsurpassed. It's good to know that I won't be "guessing" distance this fall. Also, being an eyeglass wearer, the fold down eyecups are a welcome addition. If you can afford them, don't compromise.

Good Luck,

J Scott
