Best, cheapest online gun dealers?
Im shopping for a new semi .22 and .40 handgun. I live in NJ and Ive shopped a few local places but their prices seem pretty high. Ive shopped cheaper than dirt but they dont ship to NJ. Just found CDNNsports and they seem really resonable even with shipping and ffl transfer fees. Can you guys lead me to some more online places and some good spots for used guns?

Pretty high compared to what? By the time you factor in shipping and FFL fees, your LGS probably isn't such a bad deal. I encourage buying locally whenever possible. There are times though, when there just isn't a local option.

Yet another vote for Buds. I've bought four or five guns from them in the last year.

I have only purchased in store from J&G, great experience.
I have not done any business with Bud's, but their prices are some of the best, great selection and AWESOME feedback. Keep in mind when buying online you will have to use a local FFL to have it sent to and you may have to pay shipping as well. |

Yes Bud's ships for free.. but it needs to be shipped to a local FFL. That said FFL can charge whatever he wants to receive and transfer the gun to you. If your saving $75 by ordering online.. he can charge you $75 to receive and transfer it.
Handguns don't get shipped to your house. |

Anyone used impactguns.com? Some googling reveals some bad stories, but they do have some really excellent prices on certain guns.

I know shops that charge $75 to do it, which is high.. but they do exist.. hence the reason I used it.
I know places that charge as low as $15-$20... I also know shops that will not receive a gun unless it is a used/discontinued one... basically one they can't get their hands on for you. |

My LGS charges $25 for a transfer. Sometimes it is only $20. They do a lot of transfers. They don't like transfers from Bud's but they still do them. I just went in today to have them fax there FFL info to the dealer I purchased my SR22 from. Hope to get it next week.

We have a pawn shop that charges $25 for all transfers. Look at pawn shops, they don't take it as personally as LGS.

Here is El Paso I pay $25 at a pawn shop also. In a life without free market competition a high transfer fee could certainly bone you, but I don't see a $75 fee as being a realistic representation of what most americans pay. Honestly with 8% sales tax here you only need to buy a $300 gun to make a transfer fee cheaper anyway.

I am very fortunate to have Bud's less than 10 minutes from my house.

I have ordered from...
CheaperthenDirt - Very good, cheap shipping. jgsales - very good, expensive shipping impactguns, good, great inventory, expensive shipping jetguns- very good, cheap shipping. I use an FFL in Milw at charges 20 American per transaction. Most recent purchase was a FNH SLP shotgun. Originally had in cart at Cheaper then dirt for $960. then is was 1025, finally 1,069. Jetguns had it for 984 - ordered at 5 pm local time, shipped next day. I have thus far avoided Buds because the 3% thing pisses me off. |
