sightron SIII for Varmint hunting/pest controll
I need a scope for small varmint hunting/pest controll out to 300 yard on my uncles farm, mice, rats, ground sqirrels,...
I tried to use my 3-9x40 bushnell but its just not good enough. My cousin borrowed me his nightforce 5,5-22x50 and i was able to hit rats and sometimes even mice at 200 yards and more without any problems (using an anschuetz 1770D in .223). Problem is he wants his scope back and i cant/dont want to go back to the bushnell.. the guy at the gunstore said that Sightron SIII scopes would perform just as good as a nightforce at only half the price. Ive never heard of Sightron before, anyone of you have experience with one? Any other suggestions for a good long range varmint/pest controll scopes? |

Sightron makes some very good scopes.
I've never used the SIII but, as I recall, they are somewhat less favored than the SII Big Sky models. I could be wrong though. The SII Big Sky models, of which I have used a few, are very, very good. Some of the best I've ever used.
