Latest in Bauer Saga . . .
So I ordered a polymer mag catch. Got it and discover that the space between the two holes the holding pin goes through is too narrow for the mag safety bar and the corresponding spring. I figure it's an after market part defect. I make it wider with the application of jeweler file and and sand paper. But now the thing won't hold its shape when I try to install it. I shut it all down for a while and do more research.
Guess what? The mag release catch for a Baby Browning and a Bauer ARE NOT THE SAME. The gap in the Bauer has to accommodate the mag safety bar AND the corresponding spring. The gap in the Browning mag release only has to accommodate the mag safety bar and so the gap is more narrow. Not sure what my next step is. Found a mag release for a Bauer on-line for FIFTY DOLLARS!!!! Guess I could try to sell it as a parts gun . . . Are we having fun yet? Life is good. Stay Healthy. Prof Young |

Watch Ebay. A mag catch will show up soon.
The PSP guy might have a Bauer catch, also. |
