Two of the collection..

Not the most impressive, badass, or even my favourite, but by far the most photogenic out of the nine firearms I own, a Ruger New Model Single Six Bisley in .22LR, one of 500 produced for Davidson's with the engraving around the cylinder.

Also, we've got my daily carry, fresh back from S&W for a timing fix. New to my collection, but not to carry.. this Model 38 dates from the early 1960s, blued frame/barrel with stainless cylinder and latch, along with a few other daily carry items from my pockets.

What gfen? No jinglebobs on those spurs? Seriously, that's a damned nice picture.

Y'know, being about as suburban as possible, I'm not even sure if jinglebob is a legimate term or something you're jsut making up. How bad is that?

I bought those when I was in Gettysburg at a reanctor's shop. The proprietors leered at my wife and I and make snarky jokes (then again, the night befoer I did buy a Civil War riding crop, heh), but I really just wanted them, well, hey, spurs, right? I went home and wore 'em on my Chuck Taylors once.

I tell ya, that Single Six is just photogenic. I can't not take a bad picture of it. I have a few more I've been meaning to scan in (I cheated and use a digital camera for that one), although its not a terriffic picture.. Edge the table is at the top and I washed the highlights out of skull coz I don't get the whole digital thing.

Thank you, though.

gfen, perfectionist.

Believe it or not, it's a legit term. A jinglebob is a little fishin' sinker like thingy that hangs down alongside the rowel (wheel) of the spur. It's what gives Clint Eastwood that "ka-ching" sound when he walks around in those spaghetti westerns .

Now you have your trivia for the day .

Aha! So that's why Chucks don't sound nearly so menancing when you're stalking through the house on a Friday night with those spurs!

This one has been refinished by Mac's Shootin Iron. I hope to add a S&A arched magwell soon to complete the package. My favorite shooter....DanM
