I had the same question about a year ago.
Then I bought a Dan Wesson CBOB,NIB for about 800$.
I own "several" other good reliable pistols but this one has gotten under my skin.
It's been as close to perfect out of the box.
A slight sight adjustment was all it needed.
Fit and finish are just unbelievable, reliability has been 100% and I've never shot better or more controlled groups.
The only negative is you have to dress around it for concealment due to it's weight.
If I could only have one gun I'd keep this one.

Back to post #67. Way to go Max. I bet you are a happy camper now. I know how you feel. I have been shooting since the late 50's and never bought a 1911. I finally broke down and bought one a while back. It was a nickle RIA and I like it. Good luck Max and have fun with your new "1911". Just keep a shootin'

I like the 1911A1 .45 ACP. I've been owning and shooting them since introduced to the old pistol in the Navy. The 1911A1 .45 ACP is reliable, durable and a proven fight stopper. If you have the inclination, give one a try; I don't think you will be dissatisfied.

i got it

Guys,

What have I been doubting?

Colt National Match Gold Cup Serie 80 - with the disconnect disconbooberated (cleanly, and in my tool box to boot). So it behaves like a series 70.
Shoots like a tack driver.

Much obliged to all for the encouragment,

Max

ever since I first shot a 1911 i've wanted one. Well actually before then, the first time I learned about 1911's when I was younger watching some old war show or something on the history channel I've wanted one. Finally shooting one a couple of years ago just made me want it even more. Well I have been puttin it off because money has been tight latley, but I found a deal at a local range I couldn't pass up:

A brand new Kimber Pro carry II with a 4" barrel for $800, brand new. So I put the minimum $100 deposit on it and now I have 90 days to fully pay it off which I'd rather accomplish sooner than later but we'll see how it goes, waiting tables for a job isn't always reliable so...... Since I already own a gun for carry my M&P 9c I'm not in too big of a hurry to pay it off, but i can't wait until I can and take it out of the store.
