Let's see, a Lee CT press, 4 die sets, basic tools that I need, 5 pistol powders, 3 rifle powders, about 3k primers & bullets, more cases than I care to count. $ wise, I haven't counted. And not near as much as the more experienced reloaders here, but I'll keep shooting for a while.

"Clark, are those local, state or Federal limits?

I don't even know where to look to find the limits."

These are local regulations from fire marshals.

There has been some impact on retailers and clubs, but never heard of any action against an individual in their home.

I have been reloading since 1979 and could not even begin! I have two tablets and shelves with three gun safes.

I have seen many hundreds of pounds of rifle powder stored in a semi truck trailer next to a small ammo factory... 800 miles from here.

Check with your County or Municipality, the ordinances are generally local, not even state-wide.

Don't ask your insurance agent !

Don't ask, Don"t tell. The less you know the better, or so I have been led to believe by more than 3 wise men.

This same subject came up a few years ago. At that time, the total was a rough estimate of about $7,800.

Since then, I have sold off the Dillon 550, but made some notable upgrades, added some cartridges, collected more bullets, and added quite a bit of bullet casting, swaging, and bullet coating gear; and I have been slowly adding gunsmithing tools (it's all stuff that goes in "the gun room", so I lump it together).

So... I don't even want to know what it would be now.

I don't want to put a dollar value on it but the last time I moved it seems pretty close to a pick up load... All packed in plastic tubs with snap on lids. There's more airspace than needed in these tubs but some of them have heavy loads in them that only take one layer on the bottom.

Looking at it all, I realize that I don't shoot enough or I wouldn't have so many supplies on hand... My Dillon press hasn't been set up in over 6 years and that makes me just a little sad.

If I count all the equipment, presses, powders, primers, brass, and bullets, then I've spent a lot, but I still spend a lot less than some guys spend on their classic car hobbies.

Quite a bit.

But probably less money into it than if I played golf, or smoked, or chased women...

The wife won't have anything to do with gun stuff, but she's stuck with me anyhow. Bless her heart.

After reading some of these posts I must add this. All mine is tied up in Brass,Bullets,Powder,Primers. I started many years ago with a RCBS Single stage press, just last year now the Casting finally broke, RCBS sent me a new one for free, but during the waiting time I had Matches to go to,so I had to buy a Rock chucker. I do not have all the tools lots of you have. I have a Digital caliper,Headspace gauges,Dies for 7 calibers and one pistol,Primer pocket tools and Chamfer tools. Never found a need for anything else yet. Now the stuff one needs to keep reloading, ( brass, bullets, powder, primers). That is were 90% of my money is tied up. My shelves are bowing under the weight of bullets, powder.
I don't buy new rifles,I just buy new barrels( about 2 a year). My powder is spread out in 3 peoples houses,as I have no idea what the limit is,but I would venture to say I am 10 times over it. Like my previous post-I donate plasma for $280.00 a month. That is all spent on brass, powder, bullets and primers only.
Call me a end of peace time planner, but I know who's house everyone will come to if and when that happpens. Now I also shoot more than the normal person does too. Most times it's about 300 to 500 rounds a weekend,so my stock is getting used, but gets replaced very fast. I would guess I am Scheels #1 customer. I actually sold them brass a few years ago during the shortage.

I reload 9mm, 380, and 30-06. I have lots and lots of brass and more on the way. I have about 10 lbs of powder combined, roughly 7000 primers, and usually between 1-2k of projectiles but those are running low. I have about 6 die sets. I dunno, maybe $1-2k invested. Not nearly as much as my music hobby/career. Got over $15k there!

If you ask my wife, it's too much.

If you ask me, it's not enough.

I pretty much leave it at that, because it's the safest way to do so and follows the path of least resistance rule.

I don't want to know or even guess.
I've been reloading since the 70's and have cabinets and shelves and ammo box's stuffed with loading equipment and materials.
No to mention loaded ammo I have accumulated.

It's like when you look in your wife's closet at all the shoe box's - ya just don't want to think about how much money is sitting there.

The limiting factor in Finland are laughable limits on amounts of powder/primers. 2kg max/ 1000 primers max.

With a proper external storage, the limit is 25kg of stuff.

I have around 125lbs of powder, >90k primers, >10k bullets, and >20k in brass. Am set for whenever the Zombie Apocalypse occurs.

Now to find the time to load it all...
