$280 is a steal, and it is a fantastic gun.

$280 isn't a ateal, it's grand theft!
Buy it quick. I found one a few weeks back, and aside from an issue moving the rear sight and direction of ejection, I love it. Very reliable, straight shooter. Mine is an older one, not the prettiest, but I don't buy them for pretty. ![]() |

I bought it, its a newer model with the picatinny rail built in.
I ended up paying him 300, as he included 2 more mags, for a total of 4! Will take her to the range tomorrow! |

I think it's interesting that the one Taurus everyone seems to like is the one built on Beretta's old machinery.

I started looking for a possible next gun, and I think I'd like the PT100/101.In over 40 years of gunning, I've never had a 92 type gun." Point and sqeeze" striker fired guns may be fine, and I have some, but they get boring. Once in awhile, I like levers to flick and a hammer to cock and stuff like that. I bet nobody else out there is like that?

My old PT99, 1986 vintage, has fired thousands and thousands of rounds with nary an issue. Woodchucks, squirrels, tin cans, etc., they all explode when the old 99 fires a hollowpoint at them. Super accurate and rugged as hell too! I have had numerous other Taurus 92's and Beretta 92's. they have come and gone. But this Taurus PT99 is a keeper, just like my Taurus .357 model 66 6" that was bought with it back when RR was our Commander! Don't I miss the 80's!!!!
I strongly suspect there are many on here who bash Taurus who have never even fired one, as they spend too much time trying to up their post count... ![]() Last edited by shurshot; April 3, 2011 at 07:57 AM. |

I strongly suspect there are many on here who ignore the obvious while trying to feel better about their own purchase. If you're happy with your Taurus then great but that doesn't make everyone else a liar. That said, I still think the Taurus PT series are decent for the money and are the only Taurus I would buy. If I hadn't decided Taurus wouldn't get any more of my money after they screwed me around on a "warranty" repair the last time that is. Worst customer service ever. |

I have put many rounds through the PT's and M9's.
I have no problem in justifying the higher cost of the Beretta if that's what you choose. It's the original, better fit-n-finish, etc, etc... That said, I think the PT's are indeed great guns, not just good for the money. Unfortunately, the bad rap that Taurus gets on the net carries over to the line of guns that they make best, that being the 92 family. This does keep the cost down and makes them more affordable. Full credit to Beretta for this amazing design, the plant, tooling, expertise, etc. Same thing applies to Stoeger, they make a great cougar. I own a PT and I think it's a fine alternative to the Beretta. Again, lots of rounds through both of these great guns, lots! Drop-dead georgerus too! ![]() |

I have only owned one Taurus and had a bad experience with the gun. But if I were to buy another Taurus I would buy the P92. I have always like the Beretta but never have I heard anything negative on the Taurus P92. They seem to be the best offering for Taurus. One of this days I will be really for another 9mm. The P92 is on my short list.

My PT92 is one of my favorites as well! Although I've got the smooth bottom, so no tactical rail accessories but this pistol I think looks very sweet without the tac rail. Everyone who just openly bashes Taurus probably hasn't shot a 92 or most of there other all metal guns...as I've noticed it's primarily their poly lines that have the hit or miss type of production.
