This sounds fairly close to spam, to be honest.

I agree with the folks who said NRA needs a clean sweep; if you were around when WLP was grifting, you're either complicit or ineffective at oversight.

I was a member for 25 years (might still be, actually) but they haven't gotten any money from me beyond that since I realized it was all going to WLP's tailor.

IIRC March 7th is the closing date for the election.

Let's hope the old guard is out.

election results

Results are in and most of the old guard is out. Seven Old Guard were voted in. Seventeen Reformers are in.

I guess this means fancy suits and the cat lady are out.

Note: a couple of old guard have short term seats. Read more at the link.

This is potentially hopeful news, but it remains to be seen how the board will settle in. I'm disappointed that Sandra Froman and Carol Frampton were reelected. Both were definitely part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

Ditto with Old Guard Bob Barr.

Remember there are way more directors (personally I say about 50 too many). With multi-year terms it takes about 3 cycles minimum to make major changes in the make up.

The board of General Motors has 13 members.

AT&T has 11.

Ford Motor Company has 15.

Yeah, I'd say the NRA is a bit top-heavy.

I voted for years, and then I quit. Even though I'm a life member. If I could revoke my membership I probably would. I got fed up with the Wayne LaPierre scandal and the fact I felt they had given up on my home state if Colorado.

I told them they wouldn't get another dime from me until I saw them filing lawsuits upon behalf of the residents of Colorado and spending serious money to primary the incumbents who represent us on the Federal level. I told them I'd save my money to support state and local races. Since if they want change at the federal level, changes at the state level first would have a greater impact.

I see them as top heavy as well. I imagine there is so much infighting and deal making going on that they can't agree on anything. I'd love to see a smaller more nimble NRA focused on grass roots movements focused on changing the makeup of congress.
