Natchez and Midsouth were a couple of my regular suppliers for years, but, then I moved to Tennessee and get hit with a 9.75% sales tax when buying from them. Midway, Graf, others get my mail-order business now.

Muzzleblast,I can see how having to pay 9.75% tax for living in Tennessee is annoying. I don't blame you for taking a better deal.
I'm thinking Natchez has no choice but to follow Tennessee tax law. zukiphile: I have no reason to doubt you. It might well be you have a totally legit beef. And I would not blame you for being unhappy. At the same time, life has taught me that there is generally two sides to every story. I generally want to hear both sides before I make any changes. I,too, have had decades of dealing with Natchez, and no horror stories. A few days ago I ordered 5 boxes Hornady .308 110 gr round noses at $13.99 a hundred. Not bad! For giggles,I checked 30 carbine brass. Hornady,200 rds for $49. Not a great price, but about $5.00 cheaper per 100 than my favorite brass supplier. Its a stocking stuffer, and tracking says Dec 21. I'm happy. I do hope Natchez resolves the issue in a decent way for you. But I'm not going to pile on. Last edited by HiBC; December 19, 2017 at 08:17 PM. |

I don't like them because they won't ship to Georgia.

I only buy from Graf and son, mainly because they are 4 miles away and l pick up all orders. They always have my order ready for pickup within an hour.

Seriously? You resurrect a 6 1/2 year old thread to get a pound of flesh from a vendor by trying to take others with you after one of the inevitable snafus in mail ordering? I do well with Natchez and plan to continue.

This was no accidental mishandling of a customer account, but a conscious decision by Natchez to engage in sales practices that are deceptive under state and federal regs. Apologies for leaving this in an existing thread. Let me know if you'd like me to start a new thread devoted to the issue.

You are not going to see any credit/refund until the merchandise is logged in as returned. Holding out for a mistaken price on the website makes you the problem, okay to be irked but bucking how online ordering actually works. If you look closely, there may be a disclaimer on the site for stuff like this. I don't think they are obligated to sell to you at a mistaken price, and permitting a return on their dime is a common practice way of handling it. I have a business selling mail order too and have some sense of how this has to work.

Real Gun, you have some strong sentiments about this for not actually knowing what has occurred.

There is no magic difference in online ordering that permits a vendor to take payment for a full order, confirm the terms of the deal, then decide that although they will take payment, they only deliver half. Had you read more closely, you would understand that I hadn't held "out for a lower price". Natchez was at all times free to keep its half shipment; I even called them to keep them from shipping in the first place. Quote:
At each turn, I dealt with Natchez fairly. At each turn, Natchez misrepresented what it was doing. Now, explain how that makes me "the problem".

Natchez lacks authority to charge me for materials I haven't ordered. Quote:
Whether Natchez understands what it sends out in confirmation of an order doesn't alter its nature as a confirmation. It presents the vendor with a simple choice, deliver and charge according to the order, or don't. Charging according to the order but not delivering according to the order is a deceptive sales practice in many states, Tennessee included. Quote:

Just a side note. As an alternative to the Lee auto disc, why not get the Auto Drum powder drop measure?
I've been using it on the Lee loadmaster for about 2 years and it works great with all powder types. Check out reviews on it, most guys like it |
