I do understand your point SL1. But i have seen so many overloaded cartridges in my life that ruined guns its a shame. Now in high power its different. But with that said i very rarely come anywhere near max load capacity. As far as my hiking or woods gun a S&W 500 shortie is plenty sufficient. I will leave out one can of beans to compensate for the extra weight. I like a little edge in the woods as you correctly point out. Bears are the decision makers of that rule. Amen Brother on that one!! Thanks
