Next to my "Old Days Commander" this is one of my all time favorite custom 1911 handguns.
It does not have some of the bells and whistles associated with custom guns, but it has everything needed for a custom fighting handgun. Best Regards Bob Hunter |

I really like it because it does not have all the "typical" bells and whistles.

Bob,
Do you have any test targets for your 1911's and the "ray guns" as someone called them? |

Myself and many of my customers feel the same way you do. I think some of the reasoning for this is because the market has been flooded with guns that look like custom built guns, so it's nice to see something different. Also many people soon realize that all the bells and whistles are not really needed and can actually be a hindrance on a fighting/conceal carry gun. Get R Done Guns,
No I don't have the test targets for the guns in the pictures. Most of the guns pictured I built for customers of mine, some of the guns I built to sell, so the targets went with the guns. The gun in the last picture I built as defense gun, I used the stock barrel so I never printed a target. I have shot the gun as fast as I could empty it on a USPSA/IPSC target at 15yards. I was point shooting the gun with no reference point to aim at, the group was center mass and about 2.5 inches. I don't believe I could shoot a target/competition gun any better doing the same thing. Being made as a special order "custom" gun this 1911 Colt will qualify, I guess
but how about this Korth? It was basically hand-made in 1969. Even though there were few options available, I consider it a custom gun. I was at the old Korth shop in Ratzeburg and talked to the main gun smith! They made less guns than most custom gun makers. |

PzGren,
Beautiful guns. Always loved Colts. Very well made and a charm to shoot. Nice Pistols. |

Thanks Get R Done Guns,
the Colt is really a joy to shoot and shares the favourite place of centerfire semi auto together with my SIG P210. The Korth is my favourite revolver and shares the favourite place of rimfire handguns with a Hämmerli 212. Both the P210 and the Hämmerli 212 had quite a bit of hand-fitting involved in manufacturing and are perfect examples of Swiss attention to details. Unfortunately quality always comes with a price tag atttached to it and for a little extra high end quality, that price tag is often unproportionally high. |

I agree with you and Col. Cooper. A good trigger, good sights and utter reliability is all that's needed in defensive handgun. Although I do like checkering and match grade accuracy. |
