i'm a big fan of them green loaders and their products but i think i'd probably draw the line at loading shotshells on it...if i remember correctly the dies are pretty expensive as dies go...and when you compare that to the cost to a MEC junior-i think you may be pleasantly surprized--before i went to progressive MECs i used a junior and could load a box of shells in about 9 min...this brings me to another issue--How much shotgun do you shoot????the discount stores have remington and federal 12 ga shells for probably about the same or a little more than you can load them for...about the only thing you gain by reloading 12 ga is flexibility--you can load about anything you want speed wise-shot wise and so on...the factory speciality shells cost more and you can make them for about the same thing...i shoot cowboy and use 7/8 oz at about 1200 fps...well low and behold federal has just come out with them but you can bet they will not be cheap (Especially if they put a cowboy on the box)....Well enough ramblin around but be sure to check the discount mail order places for a mec jr. or better yet find a used one.....Take a kid shooting....Dick
Hey i just checked on Precision Reloadings site and they've got 600 jr for about 85.00 as i remember the RCBS shotshell dies are in the 50.00 range [Edited by dick w. holliday on 06-03-2001 at 07:50 PM] |

I want to load slugs and duplex shot loads I have an old lee loader (Not the press type)
I just bought a MCE jr for my 410. The 410 shotshell in my location are hard to find and very expensive Like $15 a box |
