Would/Do You Carry A "Pretty" Gun?

I carry some surplus pistols with very minor finish wear so it makes me "feel" a bit better about any additional wear. However, I take care of my things so haven't had any more visible wear on my pistols. I do carry a new CZ PCR that I bought in 2000. Don't know if people consider their polymer finish "pretty". It still looks new yet I've carried it a lot. I only use leather holsters, and never store my pistols in them.

While I'd like to carry a beautiful fully engraved 1911 I have to settle for regular guns. I do however sometimes carry a handsome looking 649. tom.

I would never carry a gun, on duty or off, that I wasn't prepared to have booked into evidence for a protracted period of time… or forever. That includes expensive, fancy [not even going to discuss bling], or had some special meaning [ie: heirloom]

Good quality, perfect function, and I won't miss it when it's gone are the attributes I look for in a duty/SD sidearm.

I don't have any real pretty guns but I would carry a nickel plated 1911 in .38 super if I had one. Love that Sig 232.

I think all guns are pretty, honestly. I think the ONLY gun that is so ugly that I am embarrassed for it is the high-point. especially te older .45's.....geez. is there nothing they can do for the aesthetics and keep the same mechanical workings that they use?

I don't think Glock's are "pretty", but I think they have a cool minimalist utilitarian look. I think Chiappa Rhino's look freakin awesome for reason. Actually I can't think of a single revolver that isn't appealing to look at, maybe the LCr places last, but it's still neat. okay, okay, nevermind, I forgot about the Taurus 605 poly that comes in white with bright green grips.....that pretty much tops the ugly list.

prettiest semi sa/da autos? BHP's, 1911's(of course), CZ anything, witnesses, baby eagle(Jericho?), Sig 938 SAS(does anyone have one by the way, never seen one in person or on the forum, beautiful gun), ummm..Lugers of course, although not sa/da

single action....man, they are all so pretty. I would have to say probably the good ole' 3 screw stainless Blackhawk .45 or maybe freedom arms model 83 casull.

da/sa revolvers....I hate to keep saying Ruger, for one I don't even own one or have even shot one, but they make the prettiest darn things I have ever seen. I think my ultimate dream revolver is probably the "Alaskan", but I wouldn't throw the GP100 outta bed either. I think the big Taurus Trackers look pretty sweet too. I know smith probably makes the nest revolvers in the world, but they re just plain to me, never really turned me on.

prettiest striker fired? I dunno, I guess it would have to be the Sphinx, or some of the modular sig offerings. although they are all nice, they have a hard time standing out between each other.

I unfortunately dont own any pretty handguns yet, I do have a SS lever-action that is pretty sexy, and I find my super tacticooled mosin nagnt pretty neat too, although I know I am probably in the minority on that one. but I think "almost" every gun is "pretty" in it's own rite, even a zev glock race gun

I carry the common poly pistols. I don't get beat up over them if they get bumped, scuffed, scraped, or worse case stolen/confiscated. Now if my custom 1911 or C series hi power got scratched I'd be pretty upset, but I don't carry those, just shoot them once in a blue moon.

I see no reason to abuse a nice looking gun. Mine all get shot. But I have plenty of 100% reliable "beaters" that I can carry or toss in the glovebox. And should I ever need to use one in self defense, I suspect the authorities will be confiscating that gun. Could be a very long time ( if ever ) before it is returned. And who knows in what condition.
