Choosing a Lever Action 45 LC Marlin or Henry
Those are my choices so far. Pretty well want to stick to a US mfg and while cost is a factor, its not the decider.
What I have not been able to sleuth out is a real discussion on the Marlin 1894 (first choice due to price and quick take-down for cleaning) which has a 1-38 twist. Henry has a 1-20 I believe and variation in others up though 1-24 but the 1-38 Marlin looks to be the slowest. Pistols are 1-16 and the 45 Colt Rifle would at least conceptually be paired with a 45 Colt Pistol That is my intent to use the lead 200 gr and 255 gr bullets (rounds actually) I load for my pistols. That is quite a difference you don't normally see at least in my experience but I have zero experience with a rifle/pistol combo. New lever like the S&W went with 1-16. What would be the best odds for accuracy at 100 yards and the various twist rates and or bullets used?

Did some looking, 44 Magnum is list as 1-20 twist, why would a 45 be 1-38?
Is that an error ?
