ch speed seating die

A friend gave me a CH 45 acp speed seating die. I looked it up and says these dies were developed for wadcutter bullets.

I never even heard of these dies. Do all companies make them or is it or was it just CH?

I have pistol dies from Lee, Lyman, RCBS, and older dies from Bonanza, and none of them come with speed seating dies.

Are any of you familiar with speed seating dies?

I am not familiar with that type of die. They are a custom or semi-custom die maker. You might call them about it.

Adding to confusion, Lee used to make pistol dies they called Speed Dies. These were a single die body with screw-in sizing ring and expander and seating stem. The idea was that one die body adjustment would stay in place and the other functions could then be performed correctly without removing and replacing die bodies. I got several for their compactness and lower weight than a standard die set, which made them attractive for my range loading kit for load development with a Lee Hand Press. I didn't actually find them faster than swapping out standard dies, which may be why Lee couldn't make them popular enough to remain in their line, and discontinued them.

I would take the suggestion to call CH Tool and Die (not to be confused with C&H precision). 740-397-7214
