AR15 buttstock locating tab markings
Have noticed different markings on the locating tab of various Ar15A1 buttstocks. Some with E1,C1,V, etc... my particular type E stock has a raised C2 on the tab. Some have e nothing marked on them and some early ones had drain holes. Anyone know what the different markings are?

My guess would be injection mold cage codes.

It's the tab below the buffer tube on the front of A1/A2 buttstocks. It fits into the reciver to keep the buttstock from rotating. Perhaps I'm in the wrong forum section.

Ah, all my stocks on several AR’s are retractable, never even messed with fixed stocks. Learned something new to me today, thanks.
