NECG Square Bridge Mauser Conversion

Hey guys.
I find myself on NECG's website a lot more frequently than I should.
Saw a "Mauser 98 Square Bridge Conversion"
Looks like just a sleeve that goes over the top of a large ring mauser.
Do these just get soldered on? Tig welded?
It seems like a neat idea, if I had a spare mauser receiver lying around.
Anyone tried these?

I was looking at a fire damaged arisaka receiver for almost free a few days ago. Figure I could make something like that for practice, and TIG it onto both front and rear bridges. Since it's fire damaged, it's going to be re heat treated anyways. Probably make mine from 1085, since its pretty close to the steel used in the arisakas, so they'll heat treat nicely with the receiver.

For reference, here's the one from NECG that got me thinking.

Those square bridge conversions are fairly common on European custom rifles in order to allow installing claw mounts without cutting a huge dovetail into the receiver ring. They get soldered on, which is relatively secure.

Awesome. I'd never seen them before. This might be a fun project.
