But I also like 1911s that aren't from Colt:
Top to bottom: CZ 1911A1, Norinco 1911A1, Dan Wesson 1911A2: ![]() This is a customized Nighthawk Falcon on top of a Dan Wesson Valkyrie, both with grips from Harrison: ![]() For carry, I like aluminum alloy framed 1911s like the Dan Wesson CCO and Dan Wesson Guardian: ![]() Last edited by KyJim; March 31, 2020 at 04:16 PM. |

I find 1911's to be somewhat addicting:
Military 1911/199A1 Top to bottom, Left side: 1914 Springfield Armory 1917 Colt 1918 Colt 1942 Colt Right side: 1943 Ithaca 1944 Remington-Rand MEUSOC M45A1 1951 Argentine Sistema M1927 Bottom, middle: Norwegian Mod 1914 ![]() |

Yep Yep Yep
I love the 1911. It's hard to beat the feel of the slim grip in my hand. While I like the browning hi power, the 1911 is really a bit better design in a lot of ways and the 9mm 1911 is a better target gun with cleaner trigger.

To my mind, there's really nothing quite like the 1911. I don't carry one any more, and there are certainly plenty of other good guns out there. But I don't shoot anything as well as I shoot my 1911, and it's beautiful to boot. You know, if you like matte black park'd with just a little holster wear.

Man, those are some beautiful pistols. My daughter used to wonder why I was so crazy about 1911s until her little hands became big enough to properly use one and now she too is a fan. I have had Kimbers and a couple of others, but my favorite to shoot and carry are both RIAs for some reason.
