400 Corbon???

I have had the barrel and components for a while. Just got the dies in (Lee). BUT - can find no load data in these manuals; Lee, Lyman, Hornady, Sierra or Nosler. Any suggestions? Any one have first hand experience or even "third" hand rumors? Or have I wasted my $$s. Hopefully, I can size .45 acp cases down to fit.

I played with it 20-ish years ago. The issue I found was the neck was too short to provide adequate neck tension. Bullets would set back in the case when chambered, creating a high-pressure issue. Sometimes they would set back a little, and sometimes quite a lot.

This was true of both factory ammo and hand loads, whether from .45 brass or .400 Corbon brass.

I finally sold off the dies and barrel.

ETA: looking at my notes, I primarily used (now discontinued) Win-540 powder. I did try 8.0 gr. WSF with a 155 gr. bullet, which produced 1165 fps.

Do you recall what type of "crimp" you used, roll or taper? Seems like a roll crimp would be best as the case head spaces off the shoulder and not the case mouth. But, I have no experience with the caliber, yet. Thanks for the input.
