Kel-Tec KGS improvements & serial numbers?

Kel-Tec doesn't officially designate different generations of the KSG. But, I read a lot of posts by users who refer to Gens 1, 2, 3, even Gen 3.5.
Does anyone know what changes were made to the KSG over the years of production, and at approximately what serial numbers those changes took place?

That thread indicates that sometime during 2013/14, the Gen 2 came along which made some kind of "change to the selector switch area". Shortly thereafter, the fore-end changed shape from squarish to rounded, and was reinforced somewhat, due to breakage of Gen 1 under-rails. There still seemed to be some confusion as to weather the rounded fore-ends = Gen 3, or maybe just 2.5?

Since that thread ended in late 2014, it's possible that more changes have occurred, which have now become known as Gen 3 KSG's?

Some on-line sellers seem to be still using old Gen 1 photos, since they claim to have the latest Gen 3 models, yet show their KSG's with squarish fore-ends?

Any more info about changes during 2014-2017 will be greatly appreciated.
