High Power Rifle Matches Near NW Houston

I've got a good friend there and he and his 17 year old son want to learn how to shoot NRA 50-round highpower rifle matches. WHERE is the best facility in the NW area to attend a rifle match? I live in Arizona and know where a half dozen places to learn are here but I'm at a loss in TX. Couple of good people who live in NW Houston need to learn the black arts of highpower and we need your input. THANKS in advance Gents. Hunter

www.nrapublications.org

Click on "Shooting Sports" then download the current issue, then find a match in your area. Contact the match sponsor for details.

You may want to download the High Power Rule Book to learn the way matches are conducted.

Check out bayourifles.org

They're on the south side of town, but they've got a very active NRA high power and long range program.

Bayou Rifles has a nice range and high power service rifle program. Another nice range about 1 hour drive south of Houston is Greenwood Gun Club. Greenwood hosts a monthly 600 yard high power service match. At one time, they had spare service rifles that could be borrowed for use at the match for those who didn't own a suitable rifle. I'm not sure if they still have loaner match rifles. PM me for contact information if interested.
