38 stub nose loads

I have a ruger LCR and gp100..I'm looking for a good load for both right now I loaded 158 xtps with 4.7g of unique it was very accurate out of my gp100..I was thinking I should maybe cut back to like 4.2 or so for my LCR..or should I not worry about it

Cutting back would be appropriate just because you are changing components. You always want to do that because once in awhile you get a gun that sees higher pressure than others with the same load. If your case extraction becomes sticky, in a revolver that's a pressure sign. If it happens you back the load down 5%.

Alliant has no published data for that bullet weight, but Lyman and Hornady data suggest you can go to 5.0 or 5.1 grains of Unique, respectively, for your maximum load with a jacketed HP at 158 grains. Just start low and work up.
