Yesterday while shopping at a local sporting goods store,i ran across 3 Para-Ordnance .45's.These were new and had the worst finish i have ever seen on a new gun of any make.If these 3 were representative of Para-Ordnance quality overall,i'd rather use pepper spray!

Z,

Don't forget First rule...

...and finish doesn't affect performance.

But finish may evidence a lot re the overall design and manufacturing quality -- the self-disciplined instance on excellence -- invested in a product.

I just bought an LDA and the finish was flawless. I wonder what caused the poor finish?

My P12 and P13 are great guns, the finish on the frame is a little weak, but the slide itself is fine.

Finish is not an example of the quality of the pistol. My Sig P229 has a finish that wears thinner when butterfly flits by and my 229 is a great pistol.

Besides, if the Para was the standard blue model, it is MANDATORY that the frames are hard chromed, NP3ed, Armor-Tuffed or something!

We once had a name for the Para-Ordinance finish:

"Noriega Face"

Heard they were much better (two years ago I saw one that was not so bad), but perhaps--let's hope--you just saw an isolated cluster of what Consumer Reports calls "specimen defects."

Yes, I had a Para P13 that had some of the finish flaking off around the ejection port and near the muzzle. I have seen others that looked very nice, however. Too bad I didn't look closely at the finish before I purchased it.

I guess my whole point was if you are spending that kind of money you should expect a "nice" finish. If Hi-Point can give you a decent, even finish at their price point so can Para-Ordnance at theirs!
