I have two of the all steel Tanfoglio Witness's in .45 acp, one the standard da/sa in the wonder finish and the other is a 2 tone witness match. Quality seems good, price point is very good for a CZ clone. In the years I have had them there have been no problems, no FTF's, jamming, nothing. Have not used the polymer frame ones so no input there. The last Witness in 9m/m I saw for sale(January 2013) was around $400.00 new.

I've shot my friend's and it seemed fine, but there's others I'd rather have before that. But that's just me bein' me.
If you like it, offer up $285 and see what he says. |

The Tanfoglio 45(same maker) I had seemed to be fine, I didn't shoot it a lot but it worked well, although a bit on the heavy side. Mine had the 22LR conversion kit which worked pretty slick.
Overall, if you like it - get it. Nobody on here is going to say it's a total pile, especially for the price. |

I own two EAA Witness .45's with the wonder finish. Both suffered cracked frames and slides at low round counts and EAA refused to honor their "lifetime warranty" because they had been hardchromed due to corrosion issues. Take a look at google and type in EAA and customer service and see what turns up (you might also look up EAA and cracked frames or slides). I have not owned any 9mm's from EAA so my experience may not pertain to the 9mm. So do some research and then make an imformed decision. Good luck. best wishes- oldandslow |

My son has a Witness Elite in 9mm and it's been an excellent pistol. HOWEVER, oldandslow's suggestion about checking on EAA's customer service reputation is on point. While my son has never had to call on them for service I've seen many comments in multiple forums concerning the CS shortcomings of EAA. Their poor reputation seems to be pretty common knowledge.
