S&W Grip screw

I have a S&W 681 that I recently had the grips restored. Unfortunately while the grips where away, I lost the screw and nut for the grips. I called S&W and they said no and directed me to a directed me to Numrich who also said no. Any ideas where I can get this part?

thanks

Not sure about your area, but the wood stocks original to the 681 should show up at plenty of gun shows on tables with lots and lots of other grips. In my experience, that exact style of great is very, very easy to find.

I suppose you should find the WORST example they offer and buy it as cheaply as you can... just for the hardware.

The nut is usually integrated into a grip and as for the crew, do you mean this one:

If you detached the nut and lost it as well, then you can find a set of plenty used grips on Ebay for under $20... they may even come with a screw as well.

Brownells should have them as well.../ but I like the idea of taking the grips - and probably the gun - to the gun show and finding some.

call off the search! In explaining to my wife about how mad I was because I lost this screw she reached into a drawer and said "this one"

She found it in the laundry.

Thanks for the help...

Like the time I found a wallet floating in the ocean and thought I was rich...turns out it was MY wallet.

Anybody found my wallet anywhere, they wouldn't think they were rich.

Hmmmm...
She came up with a screw for him. Finding an appropriate return response would seem awfully easy to conjure...

I feel like I have been in this situation before. As my dad used to say when I was a kid, "you couldn't find you a&% with both hands" lol.

I had a old set of replacement grips and no screw. No problem, I got a screw from another set and went down to the local 95 year old hardware store that has always had everything I needed. Not this time...we looked through every bin and compartment and drawer in there and couldn't find a match. I spent the entire saturday goiing to every store that sold screws and never found a match. On Monday I went to a Fastener Supply house, they claimed to have every screw, nail , nut, bolt and special fasteners you needed....Guess what they didn't have...a freaking grip screw to match them threads. I don't know what size/pitch them screws are but you can't find one in Baton Rouge , Louisiana....so do not loose it!
