S&W 500 Magnum Finished (Pics)

I made a thread on the grips for the gun, and finally ordered them, I finally got the barrel shroud finished.
The gun has honed internals, reduced cylinder gap, bedded grips, 1500 grit finish.
Here are some pictures of the gun and its barrel shroud work.

what a pain it was. work was done with a hammer, a saw, and a file and bead blaster

What is the purpose of the shroud? Could you elaborate what and why you did it? I looks quite similar to a regular 500 barrel contour.

oh the shroud is original, the compensator came alittle loose from the previous owner. so I took off the barrel and cut 2 pieces to fill the voids in the shroud
