Yes they do.

Care to explain the issue?

I am surprised it took 3 weeks.

My experience was rather boring with them, I called, they sent me a label no questions asked, I got my gun back. I'm happy.

EdK:

I have shot six Smiths, one of them I traded. Three are at lesat forty-seven years old and none have needed to go back to Smith for repair. I'm sorry that you had to take advantage of Smith's excellent customer service.

I have a 686 i need to send in for the M modification..

i have had no problems with it, but i'm thinking of parting with it, and would feel better if recall work was done before it left me.

hopefully it will be as smooth and boring as everyone says it is..

so back to the mother ship after 27 years..

Have over 20 S&W's not counting the black powder pistoles. Have only had to send one back, the frame on a 442 cracked, they got it and said it could not be repaired. They were not making any more of them with the brushed nickel finish so they sent a 642 back. Took just shy of 3 months from first call to picking up a new pistol from LGS so paperwork could be done. Faster might have been nicer but they replaced an old gun with a new one without a fight so I'm happy.
