yea i know apples to oarnges, but as far as i can tell, these two options are the best available in the 200 dollar range for a deep cover gun. which would you choose,(or suggest another)

IMHO, no contest. Kel-Tec P32. Why?

More energy per shot, and more shots in the gun (7+1).
Reloads way quicker - you have to take the whole cylinder out of the NAA.
You can get a decent grip on the Kel-Tec. The NAA handle is about the size of a black olive.

Greeting's bullfrog99, There's nothing quite like a NAA mini
revolver; abeit the .22LR or the .22 Magnum. I carry the magnum with the 1-1/8" barrel as a "deep cover" piece. Easily concealed; but readily available, all the time.

Kel Tec 32.

It's flatter, it's easier to hold onto while firing, you don't have to thumb cock it before every shot, it holds more rounds, it fires a more powerful cartridge that cuts a bigger hole.

I own both the NAA mini-revolver and the Keltec P32, and it's really no contest. The P32 beats the mini-revolver in stopping power, accuracy, capacity, and quick reloads. It's also flatter and I believe easier to conceal. The NAA is cute, but I'll take the P32 for a carry gun.

I have noticed my NAA is easier to carry any time; behind a watchband, lanyard, pocket, in hand.

It's smaller.

Best answer -- carry both.

I have a NAA mini on my key chain. They are pretty nifty and well made little curios. If I were ever in a situation where I needed a weapon and that was all I had, I would probably use the mini as a handle and smack the bad guy with my keys. Some folks have managed to become quite competent with the mini, but I would feel better armed (in respect to both accuracy and stopping power) with a good knife.

The NAA mini’s are wonderful little guns and I think everyone should have one in their collection. However, though I have never shot a Kel-Tec, I would easily recommend one over the NAA if you're looking for a weapon that will be manageable and useful in a high-stress, life or death situation.

I don't have a P32, but I do have a .25 caliber Beretta Jetfire. It's my "dog walking" gun, and I keep it IWB "Mexican carry" when I take the dog out late at night. For comparison sake, I've also handled the P32, and the differences in size and weight are negligible, IMO.

I also have a NAA Mini in .22lr, which I alternate with the Jetfire. I either keep it behind my watchband (like WESHOOT2 suggested), or in the coin pocket of my jeans (covered by either my shirt or jacket).

If I need to, I can palm the NAA and roll it up in my hand. I can't do that with my Jetfire. I doubt anyone can palm there P32 without giving some indication that there is "something" in their hand. It's small, but not that small.

Reloads and stopping power aren't issues for me, IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION (walking the dog). If I'm confronted in this situation, the perp(s) will...1) be at very close range. We're probably talking face-to-face close. A .22lr in an earhole or eyesocket is going to ruin someone's day, period. 2) If I need to reload in a situation like this, I'm probably screwed to begin with.

If I feel that the Jetfire or NAA isn's enough firepower, I'll take my Kahr MK9!

As best I can tell from all published accounts, the little .22s (even the magnums) are horribly ineffective as self-defense weapons. And the short barrel seems to negate any potential value from the magnum rounds.

And being able to hit something small, like an eye, when under pressure, being attacked, etc., is as much wishful thinking as anything.

Get the Kel-Tec P-32.

Walt has it right as usual. I think almost anyone would
agree a .32 round is better than a .22.
I think the only reason to favor the NAA .22 over the
P-32 would be if you couldn't conceal the P-32 very well
and wouldn't carry it very often - but that would be a
stretch given the small size and light weight of the
Kel-Tec.
Of course you could do what others have done and get
both!

The P-32 is accurate and once you've got it buffed, it's reliable. Thin too. And shoots a centerfire round. I get palm-sized groups fast fire from the back pocket holster at 15-20 feet.

When my friends or I have shot their NAA mini's half the time, we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. that thing is only good for temple and belly shots.

The NAA mini is cute but is difficult to operate.

I looked at all of the pocket pistols too. Can't always CCW my P7 or mini-Glocks.

Get the P-32.

My vote goes to the KelTec P32. I've had mine for only 2 weeks and it is now my backup carry. Multiple concealment and carry options, adequate cartridge, and so far accuracy is suprisingly good. I can't comment yet on dependability or reliability, but the first 200 rounds went through with no problems (unlike my NAA Guardian which jammed and failed to fire until springs were replaced).
