Has Anyone Installed a Bipod on a Ruger Super Redhawk?

Getting on in age and not fairing to well in the health department, I thought it best to finish several of my gun projects so each of my three kids will get one (as well as my wife). What I have is a Stainless Ruger Super Redhawk in 44. I've shipped it off to Mag-Na-Port for them to remove the 9 1/2's front sight base, clean up the barrel there and thread and install their Mag-Na-Brake. That will make the barrel 11 1/2" long. With a scope it's a handful to hang onto so I first asked Mag-Na-Port to put a sling stud on the barrel so I could use a Harris Bipod. They said that it would fall off during recoil and to try to buy an adapter. I did, Harris's #4 universal adapter.

Has anyone put a bipod on a handgun? What make did you use? And how was it attached? Interested to know so I do it right. Smithy.
