LCR Speedloader?

Can someone recommend a speedloader for the LCR? just picked one up and have heard the Hogue grips dont really accomodate every speedloader.

Speedloaders

I have the smallest speedloader available...even with the slimmer crimson trace grips speedloading is a challenge because things are so tight. Get some Bianchi speed strips and move on.

The HKS "sort of" work but require more fumbling than I'd want to deal with. I've heard that it's the shape off the cylinder, not just the grips, that make speedloaders a problem.

That said, the fantastic trigger and good grips put the LCR over the top for me and outweigh the negatives of no speedloader. I'm fine carrying that and some speedstrips when I can't carry something better.

HKS Speedloaders

If you order the speedloaders advertised in the Ruger Store specifically advertised as for the 101 and LCR, they will ship you HKS 36's, the ones made for the J frame Smith's.

Well im torn between HKS "sort of" working and speed strips. I'm not familiar at all with speed strips, how do they facilitate reloading? This is my first 5 shot revolver, My only experience has been with a simple drop in 6 shot loaders.

Google is your friend....

Type "Speed Strips" into Google and check out Massad Ayoob's short video.

Take a Dremel to those grips, until a speedloader would clear them.

Priorities, gentlemen.

They're pliable plastic, so you basically stick two rounds in their chambers, pull on the strip to release, two more, release, then the last one. Not quite as fast as a speedloader, but simple enough and they're easier to conceal since they're nice and flat.

Once again, it's not just the grips that are the problem.
