Finally found a no-lock 442!!
I have Couple buddies interested in buying my S&W 642 with the lock, so I figured if I could find a no lock locally that I would be game.
Well today I found a NIB 442 and 642, so I checked it out and put money down on the 442 to replace my 642 when I sell it. I am so pumped to find one! My question is, the frame says 442-1, so are these old frames from before the lock or are they just current frames made on a limited basis? Thanks for any info and as soon as I get my hands on this sweetness I will have pics and a range report. ![]()

I purchased one awhile ago, I think S&W is giving the public a choice of lock/no-lock on certain models, msn

We order from 4 different Distributors. We can get both lock and no lock guns most of the time. I don't have a problem with the lock. Never tried it.
