DelTon has a pretty good rep on ar15.com for service. They've been selling uppers and parts for a long time. I didn't know they were selling new rifles til I checked out that ad.

That price seems very nice actually. I haven't seen AR's under 800.00. Only thing that bothers me is that the upper doesn't come with picatinny and rear sight, both which can be solved easily with a bit more money

I think it's ugly personally, but price-wise not bad at all. Del-Ton has a solid reputation.

Adding a railed forend means $100+ to the cost of the rifle. A BUIS or carry handle means $80+ for a good quality model.
In part, that's how they keep the price lower. It's intended for those who will slap optics on it right away, I think. Some folks may not care to have BUIS. |

I cant speak about that exact rifle, but I can tell you that I'm very very happy with my Del-ton 20" upper. I like it so much that I plan on buying a Del-ton lightweight 16" to go on my new Cav Arms lower. Del-ton makes a solid product at a very reasonable price.

Del-Ton is a budget builder- they have a good rep for quality, but you aren't getting top notch features and quality at that price (nor should you expect it). For a basic plinker and defensive carbine, that's a good price. Spending more will get you more, but it's also possible to spend a bit more and not get any more.
If you're looking for a functional and inexpensive AR, that's a good choice. |

I ordered an M4 kit from Delton, it's arriving tomorrow. I too found positive feedback about them everywhere I looked.
As regards the price, my kit cost $485 and I paid nearly $200 for a stripped lower receiver, but I understand you can get them for less than that in some places. By the time I buy whatever other few bits and pieces I need it'll probably cost a bit more than that rifle you linked to - so I guess that's a good deal. |

del-ton is a good rifle to go with.
properly assembled and staked properly in all the kits and complete uppers and lowers I have seen have been real close to mil-spec on everything.
